During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed AEW’s Blood & Guts event and how well tickets have sold. The company has a max of 2,500 tickets for the event, but they didn’t put them all up for sale yesterday. That didn’t stop a ton of fans from buying seats for the show.
“They had a good first day. Tickets went on sale today. I don’t know the number, because I haven’t heard how many they put on sale. I know 2,500 will be the max, but they put a number on sale, around 1,500, could be 100 more or less. They had, as of two hours after they put the tickets on sale they had, 354 tickets left, so I mean it was over 1,000 sold. It might be 1,200. As far as first-day sales they are at the level they would be for a pay-per-view. So, it’s good.”
It’s unknown if AEW will be able to bring in 2,500 fans. They already have enough tickets sold that Blood & Guts will be an event where fans at home will certainly be able to hear the live fans cheer.
It was also said that Blood & Guts will likely be the largest AEW event in terms of live fans since the pandemic started.
Blood & Guts is also slated to be the only match during their special May 5th episode of AEW Dynamite. That match will likely be a long one as AEW debuts this new concept that’s been holding for well over a year now.
