AEW Under Fire For Allowing Stars To Work Event With Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio is awaiting trial for kidnapping and sexual assault. If convicted, and he receives the maximum sentence, the former WWE Champion could go to jail for the rest of his life. He also wrestled a private event along with some AEW talent last night. That received some big attention.

SoCal Uncensored tweeted out to spill the beans about this event. It was a private setting, so tickets were not sold and no promotion was done. Alberto Del Rio was there and wrestled Daga, but other AEW stars were also on the show including Penta and Brian Cage.

Joey Ryan also chimed in to wonder why AEW would allow this when Del Rio has actual charges against him and is awaiting trial. Meanwhile, Ryan is blackballed without any charges against him.

So a couple of AEW talent worked a show last night with Alberto Del Rio, who’s been arrested for & awaits trial for kidnapping & sexual assault, but working a show with me, who has never been arrested and never had any legal troubles whatsoever, is where Tony Khan draws the line?

This private event received a lot of attention, especially for something that wasn’t promoted. We’ll have to see if AEW takes any future action to make sure their talent stays off of shows with Alberto Del Rio.
