Tonight’s NXT is set to be an actioned-packed one, with the main event being Dexter Lumis Vs. LA Knight. Since his debut, Knight has been a force on the microphone but hasn’t exactly succeeded between the ropes. He and Lumis had a few run-ins in the lead-up to TakeOver and tonight they look to settle the score, although Lumis’ mind may very well be on Indi Hartwell.
In a shocking turn last week, Kushida defeated Santos Escobar to become the new Cruiserweight Champion. Tonight Kushida will celebrate his title victory by putting the belt on the line in an open challenge. Chances are, Santos Escobar could be the man to answer the call.
Elsewhere tonight, Sarray makes her NXT debut, and Kyle O’Reilly will make his first appearance since beating Adam Cole at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Based on a slice of CCTV footage we saw of Cole and O’Reilly arriving at the hospital after their unsactioned match, it appears this feud isn’t over yet. And that’s the rundown for tonight’s NXT. Let us know what you’re excited to see and hit that refresh button below to stay up to date. Enjoy!
This week’s NXT opens with a new intro video and song, replacing Slipknot with Poppy. We go live to the Capitol Wrestling Centre and out comes Kyle O’Reilly for the first time since his unsantioned match with Adam Cole.
O’Reilly is wearing sunglasses and a wicker hat and he says he’s feeling great because he has put Adam Cole behind him. He’s always believed that hard work speaks for itself and it’s time for him to move on. So what’s next? Well he’s learned that, to succeed in NXT, you need the killer instinct. Willing to do anything, endure anything, to achieve your goals. He’s found that instinct. So should he challenge for the workhorse title, the North American Championship? Or does he take his killer instinct and hunt the most dominant force NXT has seen, Karrion Kross.
Cameron Grimes interrupts O’Reilly and makes his way to the ring. Grimes congratulates Kyle and says he can obviously stand and deliver. And he made a lot of money betting on O’Reilly using Draft Kings. Grimes thinks if O’Reilly had his backing he could be a true star. He says they could take some of his best moments and turn them into NFT’s. Together they could go to the moon. O’Reilly kept making weird faces and silly voices during that. He says he loves the idea and he thanks Grimes for the tip on Doge coin. O’Reilly says he’s cleared to compete and punches Grimes in the face. “Cool Kyle” leaves after some weird dancing and over-the-top facials.
We see NXT’s newest signee, Sarray arriving at the arena earlier today. William Regal went to greet her and Zoey Stark came out to welcome her. Stark asked for a match and Sarray agreed.
LA Knight is walking backstage and he says he was the star of Stand & Deliver. So much so that everyone teamed-up against him at TakeOver to eliminate him. Well, what goes around comes around and tonight he starts by getting revenge on Dexter Lumis. And that’s just a fact of life.
