WWE Superstars Allegedly Hated The Rock Returning & Main Eventing WrestleMania

The Rock is still regarded as one of the most popular pro wrestlers in the history of the business. He is also one of the most beloved stars in Hollywood as he paved the way for other WWE Superstars to find a career in Hollywood.

The Rock started his Hollywood career in 2001 with The Mummy Returns. During the initial stages of his Hollywood career, The Rock would still make sure to compete at the big WWE events.

While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show on AdFreeShows.com, Kurt Angle claimed that many WWE Superstars had issues with The Rock returning and taking away their main event spots at WrestleMania.

Angle added that The Rock earned his opportunity to be in the WrestleMania main events.

“I think everybody was more like; I want to do that too. You know, Dwayne would come back and wrestle at WrestleManias, and he deserves that. The career he had was, you know, unmatched. He was a very entertaining sports entertainer, and you know, some wrestlers, they’d get upset when he would come back because he would mainly take the main event at WrestleMania.”

“So, you know, the payoff for Dwayne at WrestleMania was really good, and some of the other wrestlers thought they might have missed out on a main event championship payoff. I understand why they would be upset, but Dwayne earned it, and if he ever wants to come back. If I was running WWE, I would want him to come back every year. He’s a huge star. He’s an A-list actor in Hollywood. One of the biggest stars there, and he can still go. Why not bring Rock in?”

It is certainly natural that others would be envious of The Rock’s tremendous success in both WWE and Hollywood.

The Rock hasn’t competed in a proper match since his match against John Cena at WrestleMania 29. We will have to see when The Rock will make his in-ring return.
