The Hurt Business were undoubtedly one of the most dominant groups in the history of WWE and truly elevated the status of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.
Unfortunately, the faction was broken up a couple of weeks ago on Monday Night RAW, in a decision that was widely criticized by fans and Superstars alike. It was ultimately Vince McMahon’s decision.
While speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was asked regarding the recent breaking up of The Hurt Business. Lashley did not mince any words when it come to his opinion about them splitting up.
Lashley said that it hurt his heart as it was something very special to him.
“You know it hurt my heart. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. But it hurt my heart because it was something very special. In the wrestling business, it’s very seldom that a really special thing like that comes together where you can see that energy and people really get behind it. And they were. But ultimately, business is business sometimes. And originally the Hurt Business was started by MVP and myself. Then we brought some people on that really deserved a chance. They took it and they ran with it. But the Business is not over.”
Bobby Lashley is still a dominant WWE Champion coming off a successful title defense at WrestleMania 37 against Drew McIntyre. T-Bar and Mace might have also joined the faction if last night’s WWE RAW if anything to go by. We will have to see whether Lashley will remain the champion for a long time.
