Riddle Reveals How He First Met RVD At The Playboy Mansion

Riddle would love to work with RVD in WWE, and it turns out the two already have a pretty good relationship. The first time they met was at the Playboy Mansion, in the famous Grotto, and Riddle recently told the story on WWE programming.

During the special WrestleMania edition of The Bump, Riddle was doing an interview and then RVD showed up. Riddle seemed very happy to share the camera with RVD, and he sat the Hall of Famer down while saying, “this is happening!”

The two congratulated each other on their career accomplishments, Riddle is U.S Champion and RVD is a recent HOF inductee. Then Riddle discussed the first time he met RVD.

“I remember the first time we met, it was at The Mansion, I won’t go into too many details, the Playboy Mansion in the Grotto. I met him at the Playboy mansion, first time, and I remember I walk in and we’re at the Playboy Mansion and and I feel super cool and all of a sudden I walk in the Grotto and I see Rob Van Dam and I’m like ‘HOLY CRAP!’ So I tell my bro, Scott, ‘IT’S ROB VAN DAM!!!!’ And he’s other there, like hanging out, and he’s like [points] ‘Matt Riddle!’ — I’m like ‘WHAT?! NO WAY!! HOW DO YOU KNOW ME?!’ He’s like, ‘I watch the Ultimate Fighter, dude.'”

RVD asked Matt Riddle if he really remembers that, and Riddle said, “yeah dude, I’m talking about it now!” It was quite a memory to keep as Riddle explained that it’s only his short-term memory that is a bit out of whack.
