WWE Hall Of Famer Edge remains one of the most popular and accomplished Superstars in the history of the company. As is the case in WWE, a very interesting storyline featuring Edge was dropped and it could have involved Chris Benoit.
While speaking to “Brock Lesnar Guy” Michael Corcoran, Edge was asked an interesting question regarding a dropped storyline in WWE. Back in 2003 Edge was taken out backstage by an unknown assailant at WWE No Way Out.
Edge would make his comeback a year later but there was simply no mention of the mystery assailant after that. Edge revealed that WWE dropped the storyline as they thought fans wouldn’t remember it. The assailant was planned to be either Chris Benoit or Brock Lesnar.
“Yeah, I think they just dropped it because they didn’t think people would remember and I can’t remember if the plan was either Benoit or Brock. Maybe they were into something else. I don’t fully remember the reasoning.”
Edge is set to face off against Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan for the WWE Universal Championship in a triple threat match on Night Two of WrestleMania 37. We will have to see if the Rated R Superstar will be able to win the title.
