WrestleMania will make history once again this year as a women’s singles match will headline the show of shows for the first time ever.
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair are set to battle for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania. The Boss and the EST of WWE will make history as they close out the first night of the two-part event.
While speaking to the Bill Simmons podcast, Stephanie McMahon confirmed that Banks vs Belair will cap off night one. She then went on to praise Banks and Bayley for carrying the women’s division through the pandemic.
“Sasha and Bianca are going to headline night one of WrestleMania 37. That’s going to be special and spectacular. I cannot wait to see their match.”
“I’ve always known Sasha could be at the top. She has that it factor. She shines. In the end, it’s not my decision. I am certainly excited for Sasha to have this moment.”
“During the pandemic, I have heard fans credit Bayley and Sasha for carrying the women’s division with their storyline. I think they did. I am so grateful to them for doing so.”
Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair are the first women to main event a WrestleMania event, but they had a triple threat match. Banks and Belair will have the ring all to themselves as they make history at the show of shows.
