Triple H is undoubtedly one of the top WWE Superstars in the history of the company and is now the COO of the company as well. He simply has a lot of responsibilities that prevent him from being a full-time in-ring competitor.

AJ Styles has faced several WWE legends such as Chris Jericho, John Cena, Randy Orton and The Undertaker. However, he has never faced Triple H but it isn’t without any effort from Styles.

While speaking on a conference call to hype NXT TakeOver: Stand And Deliver, Triple H revealed that AJ Styles had continuously requested him to have a match with the Phenomenal One.

However, Triple H simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to train and make an in-ring return due to the numerous responsibilities he has.

“When he first came to me, I said, ‘AJ, I’m not going to tell you no. Personally, I’d love to work with you and at this point, you can carry me to something.’ So, I’d love it. The personal side of it, the performer side of it, I would love nothing more, but the reality is—I’m not going to have the bandwidth or availability schedule-wise to be able to pull that off. He would come to me every week or every other week when I would see him and say, ‘How’s that bandwidth coming? You going to be able to make this happen?’ I’d say I’m not, but I’m flattered by that—I really am—and I’m humbled by it.”

Triple H didn’t say no to making an in-ring return and said he would do it “if it’s right and everyone believes it should be done.” We will have to see when Triple H will compete in a match again in WWE.
