Andrade’s time in WWE could be coming to an end. He has asked for his WWE release.

Ringside News exclusively reported what happened with Andrade’s situation in WWE. You can click here for that information. We can now confirm that Andrade asked for his release from the company.

A tenured member of WWE’s backstage staff has confirmed this news to us, but it’s not known if the release was granted at this time. It was noted that “Vince might make him wait.”

This comes after fans discovered that El Idolo removed all WWE references from his social media, including changing up his Twitter handle.

In recent memory, Andrade also registered trademark for the La Sombra name. He also owns the trademark for “El Idolo.” Charlotte Flair applied for “Ashley Flair” and “The Queen Of Wrestling” at the same time. Flair also pitched storyline for the two, but WWE rejected it.

Odds are Andrade will return to Mexico and become a huge main event name there. He could also venture to AEW eventually, but that is obviously speculation at this point. It’s hard to believe that Tony Khan wouldn’t be interested in talking to Andrade.

UPDATE: Wrestling Inc has also confirmed that Andrade requested his release on Monday.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
