The Dark Order had their share of fans as a heel faction, but they are much more over as babyfaces. The entire faction turned to the good side and made it impossible to boo them during Brodie Lee’s Tribute show. This left a big hole in the AEW roster that they are still trying to fill.

During the media scrum after Revolution, Tony Khan discussed the addition of Ethan Page to their roster. He said that they really need heels right now because the company lost seven bad guys when the entire Dark Order turned babyface.
“I’ll tell you truth from a booking standpoint, guys. It’s been challenging this year, and I’m glad we got to this point. We were a little bit short on heels because of the circumstances with the Dark Order we saw seven heels turn babyface overnight. That’s a big chunk of that part of the roster. I was looking forward to seeing more depth coming over to that side.”
“Ethan page coming here, he’s a great promo and I think on the heel side he’s going to be a big help to us and he’s going to make a big splash. I was really excited to see Ethan Page here I think he’s a great wrestler and a great promo and he’s going to be a great addition to us for the long-term.”
Ethan Page is certainly going to help out the heel side of the roster. They also need more bad guys to help fill the void left by the Dark Order’s babyface turn. Now the company is seemingly overloaded on babyfaces while there are a couple people who are seemingly still tweeners.
There will be a process of rebuilding things. This also shows another instance of the lasting impact that Brodie Lee’s passing left on the roster.
