The exploding barbed wire deathmatch didn’t really explode all that much when everything was said and done. A lot of people noticed this, and it’s quite unfortunate, because most people only remember the finish.

Bully Ray was very excited about Revolution. He even teased being the mystery man for a while. That ending of the AEW World Title match made him send out a topical quote from Vince McMahon himself.

Tony Khan is going to use that dud finish in the storyline, but that certainly isn’t what they had in mind. They might have planned for a big boom at the end, but that doesn’t change what fans are going to remember about the main event match.
