AEW has at least two big surprises for fans at Revolution. One of those surprises will be Hall of Fame caliber, and the other will be included in the Face of the Revolution ladder match. This could be a big night for the company.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer broke down AEW’s surprises and what they have in store for fans. It’s anyone’s guess who Tony Khan has in line for this Sunday at this point, but we are getting two new additions to the AEW roster.
“For AEW there’s going to be two new people debut on the show. One will be the sixth person in the ladder match and the other will be the surprise that Paul Wight will announce during the show. I don’t know who both new guys are, but they are both newcomers and they are both two different people. That much I do know.”
Meltzer went on to say that “I could throw out names,” but it will be a “Hall of Fame worth” person, someone who’s been around for a while, and someone who came from WWE. We’ll have to see who signs with AEW. Kurt Angle and Christian both came up in the conversation. It was also never specified that this Hall of Fame worthy addition is a male at all. After all, Zelina Vega is now a free agent.
The person debuting in the ladder match isn’t necessarily a former WWE Superstar, so that could be any free agent on the indies from Ethan Page to Aiden English. We’ll just have to see who AEW bring in at Revolution. Fans should expect two newcomers throughout the show.
