Riho returned to the United States after being out of the country for the better part of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic keeping her from international travel. She returned to Jacksonville to wrestle in the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament, but she came up short against Thunder Rosa.
Thunder Rosa and Nyla Rose will now face off during AEW’s YouTube show tonight. We will have to see who goes on to win the finals in the tournament to face Hikaru Shida at Revolution. Riho is a bit disappointed in her loss.
The first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion sent out a sad tweet after she lost to Thunder Rosa. She gave it her all, but still apologized.
I couldn’t win. Thank you for supporting me,and I’m sorry… #AEW
Riho’s story in AEW is far from over. The AEW Women’s Division also saw new faces arrive since her hiatus started, and Thunder Rosa is a big name in the division now. We’ll have to see what’s next for Riho, but she will have to recollect and try again.
