WWE sent down a new policy banning Superstars from plugging third part brands, people, businesses, and charities. They will not be restricting Sami Zayn’s current work with his Sami For Syria charity.

Zayn’s work with the Sami For Syria charity has been well documented. He has helped provide medical assistance to many people who really needed the relief. WWE’s new edict will hand down violations for plugging charities, but Sami Zayn will be allowed to continue with his efforts.

Dave Meltzer clarified the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio where he made it clear that Zayn’s charitable efforts will continue.

“Everything is on a case by case basis. I asked specifically about Sami For Syria; because that’s one of the charities I know most about. They said that that’s fine. He will still be able to promote that”

This new policy to evaluate everything on a case by case basis could get confusing, especially if different people are in control of okaying those posts. We’ll have to see if we notice any great difference in the posts that Superstars send out, but Sami Zayn will be permitted to carry on with his charity.
