WWE recently went on a hiring spree where they signed up several free agents throughout the pro wrestling world. Now there is another to report.
According to TalkSport, WWE has inked a deal with Millie McKenzie to join the NXT UK brand. Her signing reportedly could have happened sooner, but there was an issue with another star on the roster.
McKenzie called out Travis Banks as part of the #SpeakingOut movement for abuse that she endured while in a relationship with him. It is reported that the belief is that she would have signed with WWE sooner if Banks wasn’t on the roster. He has since been released.
It’s believed Banks being signed to the company was a central reason McKenzie did not sign sooner, but having seen WWE release Banks and several others as part of their efforts to address the movement, the young star from Coventry now feels comfortable working with WWE.
It is reported that WWE has “high hopes” for Millie McKenzie. She will be “plugged in at the top of the card” on the NXT UK brand. She also has a lot of experience working with Meiko Satomura, a big signing that the company recently brought into the NXT UK brand as well.
