Former WWE Superstar CM Punk was arguably one of the most popular Superstars in the company’s history. His run from 2011 until him leaving in 2014 cemented his legacy.
For a very long time, fans wanted CM Punk to square off against WWE Hall Of Fame ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in a match. A match between the two at WrestleMania certainly would’ve been memorable.
CM Punk recently held a Q & A session on Twitter. A fan noted how Punk almost fought Austin back in 2013-14. The fan then asked Punk whether he thought the match could have been the greatest match of all time.
#askpunk back in 13-14 you almost faught @steveaustinBSR do you think that would of been the greatest match of all time?
Punk gave an interesting reply to the fan. He said that the match would have been a squash match as Punk would have beaten Austin in a matter of seconds with a GTS.
Would’ve been short. GTS, 1 2 3.
There were rumors that CM Punk was going to return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but that did not happen.
