Steve Cutler was released from WWE recently, and Vince McMahon was reportedly livid about him catching COVID-19. He is believed to have caught the highly contagious virus while at a New Year’s Eve party. Both he and girlfriend Deonna Purrazzo caught COVID-19 during that time.

During the TakeOver conference call, Triple H was asked about Steve Cutler’s firing and if it will change the way WWE handles positive COVID-19 tests. Triple H said that he has no direct knowledge of the situation, nor has he asked. He then assured people that the company is doing everything possible to protect themselves and their staff from COVID-19.

“I have no knowledge precisely of that situation or what went into it. It really had nothing to do with me. We take COVID seriously across the board with everything. We expect our talent to be as safe as possible.”

“We’re taking every precaution we can from a testing and a cleaning and a… just every precaution that we’ve been advised to take. That it’s best for us to take and we’re taking it all very seriously. The safety of our staff and crew is first and foremost in what we do. So, you know I don’t know all that situation. I only know what has been speculated to me and what I’ve read. I haven’t asked and I don’t have that information [about Steve Cutler].”

As of this writing, Steve Cutler’s WWE release is the first to take place reportedly due to testing positive for COVID-19.
