WWE is in a tricky situation. They need to elevate new stars, but they don’t have the roster depth needed to really do so. This has caused them to continue a feud that most thought ended at the Royal Rumble.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer broke down why WWE is carrying on with Kevin Owens’ feud with Roman Reigns. He simply stated that they don’t have anyone else right now.
“They idea is that they’re trying to elevate someone — they gotta! They have Big E, but Big E is in the IC Title thing and I don’t think he’ll be wrestling Reigns any time soon. Yeah, it’s been bad ever since Reigns came back. They didn’t really even push Owens. They just threw Owens in that spot because they had nobody else and then they kept him in that spot because they got nobody else. They got nobody else unless they pull the trigger on Edge.”
Edge is slated to challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Until that match is made, the Tribal Chief needs someone to feud with.
WWE wants to push Cesaro to the top of the card. He just signed a new contract, but it will take a lot of work to make that happen. The company has an issue with the depth of their roster, particularly at the top. This is the reason why Kevin Owens’ time with Roman Reigns is not over yet.
