AEW has a roster full of talent, but some of them didn’t have much of any television time prior to the company’s beginning. Jim Ross is happy to be a part of putting over so many previously unknown stars.
During Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Fame announcer broke down how Tony Khan is doing as a “rookie booker.” That opened the door for many new stories on television, and Ross praised TK for improving each week.
Jim Ross also briefly discussed the company’s orginal talent and how they are starting to get some of them over as Dynamite continues through their second year.
“The talent roster, we’re starting to get some of the AEW originals over. We’ve only been here a year, anybody who thinks you can get over and be a big major star in under a year probably you’re doing too much fantasy booking. It just doesn’t work that way and it takes more time. We’re only on T.V. two hours a week.”
AEW has been through a lot since opening their doors. They were well enough established by the time the pandemic hit that they didn’t miss a week of original programming; providing an opportunity for those new stars to gain the exposure they need.
The company has plenty of established names, but they are also using them to elevate the AEW original talent to solidify a future for the company.
