WWE broke up the IIconics for seemingly zero reason. Peyton Royce’s tag team with Lacey Evans disappeared when The Lady Of WWE hooked up with Ric Flair. Billie Kay is on SmackDown, and she was just dumped by the Riott Squad. Things aren’t going according to plan.
While speaking to Instinct Culture, Peyton Royce opened up about the breakup of The IIconics and where things go from here. She loved her time with Billie Kay, and she thought their separation might be liberating in a way. Now they are still trying to find their footing.
So, I thought at first it was going to be liberating because we had been a team our entire WWE career and I absolutely loved our time together, but I was looking at the silver lining when it happened. I was like “how can I make the best of this opportunity” because it is what it is, it’s an opportunity to go out and see what I can do on my own. That happened late last year, and I feel I’m still trying to find my footing on my own. Billie (Kay) is my tag team partner and in real life, she’s my best friend, so to not have her with me – even just at work, we work on separate days now, she’s just my support system that I feel I’ve lost that and I’m trying to rebuild that within myself, trying not to rely on someone else for that. So, it has been really tough, I’m so happy for her. She’s absolutely killing it on SmackDown right now, she’s a comedic genius, and she is just thriving, and I’m hoping I can get there too.
Hopefully, WWE will figure something out for them soon. Odds are the Royal Rumble will be a great place for them to meet again. Peyton Royce is in the match, but Billie Kay hasn’t been added yet. There is still a very good chance that it will happen. The big question is whether they will be on the same page.
