Pro wrestlers sometimes travel all around the world to make their living. This might be a lot harder to do very soon, even more difficult than it already was during a pandemic.
President Joe Biden has announced a new Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel. You can click here for the whole document. The new executive order outlines steps that the administration plans to take in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Section 5 of the new policy includes a portion that might make traveling into the United States a very complicated situation for some pro wrestling companies.
Sec. 5. International Travel.
(a) Policy. It is the policy of my Administration that, to the extent feasible, travelers seeking to enter the United States from a foreign country shall be:
(i) required to produce proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test prior to entry; and
(ii) required to comply with other applicable CDC guidelines concerning international travel, including recommended periods of self-quarantine or self-isolation after entry into the United States.
AEW was flying Pac in for Dynamite tapings, but a quarantine might need to be factored into that now. Other pro wrestling companies were also planning to fly in people from Europe and Japan. This tightening of policy is one of the first steps of the Biden Administration’s COVID-19 plan.
We will have to see how they are able to work with this new policy. The suggested time for such quarantines is generally 14 days.
