Person Responsible for Britt Baker’s Heel Turn Revealed

Dr. Britt Baker is one of the top stars in AEW’s women’s division. She initially debuted in the company as a babyface, but her character work truly shined after she turned heel.

While speaking to Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Britt Baker talked about her heel character in AEW. She revealed that it was Kenny Omega who was responsible for turning her heel. Since the company started, Omega has been keeping a close watch on the AEW women’s division.

Baker added that Kenny Omega approached her one day and asked what she thought of a possible heel turn. Baker replied that she was open to do anything.

“It was Kenny Omega, Kenny ‘The Cleaner. “He had the idea of turning me heel. I remember I was in the ring one day just training, he came up and talked to me about it. He’s like ‘what do you think about being a heel? We don’t really have any heels and, you know, maybe this would work.’”

“And I just remember saying ‘I’m down to do anything’ and I will always try anything” Dr Britt Baker would continue. “But at that point in my wrestling career I had never been a heel, [not even] once in my life. So, just like my whole experience of AEW? I was just kind of getting thrown into the fire, let’s go, let’s see if it works. And it did.”

Britt Baker is currently engaged in a feud with Thunder Rosa. The two are scheduled to face off against each other at AEW Beach Break on February 3rd.
