Mustafa Ali went ballistic after Legends Night, and fans are still talking about that promo. Later on, Mustafa Ali followed that up with a tweet about WWE not giving him a live microphone again.
During a recent Q&A show on Fightful Select, Sean Sapp said that he heard someone behind the scenes was a bit upset at Mustafa Ali’s comment about WWE pumping in ThunderDome crowd reactions.
“I had heard that there was someone who took exception to him making light that they pipe in stuff… I asked about this, I was like, ‘What would anyone be mad at?’ And they’re like, ‘Well he said that they piped in noise.’ I said, ‘They do!’ And this person said, ‘Yeah, but we don’t want them going out there and saying that.’ I’m like, ‘Why not? It’s obvious. It’s okay. Baseball does it. Football does it. Basketball does it. Don’t treat us like we’re stupid!’”
We previously reported that a few “underneath” Superstars are not happy about the ThunderDome crowd. Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn control those reactions with the push of a button, and no chant is heard that they don’t approve. This takes away the audience in a big way, something that is very much missed about live crowds.
It should also be noted that Ringside News asked around about someone saying that Mustafa Ali can’t be trusted with a live microphone. Nobody heard that said about Ali, in fact, it was noted that Mustafa Ali’s tweet about the matter was smart.
