AEW worked a match into the second night of New Year’s Smash where Chuck Taylor will take on Miro. If Chuckie T loses, then he will become Miro’s “young boy” until Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford’s wedding. There is a reason why Chuck is going off on his own storyline for a while.

Trent’s injury is legitimate. He confirmed that on social media this past week. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Trent’s partially torn pec will keep him out of action for about four or five months. The good news is that surgery is not required.

AEW has been able to use members of tag teams even though one person is injured. Hopefully, this will continue to be a trend as Tony Khan figures out ways to utilize every piece of talent he has on the roster. This is not like how other companies operate where one member’s injury from a team likely means that neither of them is seen on television for the duration of their injury recover.
