Daniel Bryan has been part of the creative team on Friday Night Smackdown for quite a few months. It was previously reported that Bryan went above and beyond in order to learn the creative process in WWE.
Bryan has been working hard to give solid pushes to Superstars who were previously not used as much; such as Big E, Chad Gable and Drew Gulak.
Now it seems Bryan has his eyes set on calling up talents from NXT. According to a report by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan has been pushing to bring in more talents from NXT in order to keep things fresh on Friday Night Smackdown.
Meltzer noted that judging by their previous track record of calling up NXT talents to the main roster in the past two years, Vince McMahon might lose interest in the Superstars.
Bryan in particular with his role in creative has been pushing to bring in more NXT talent to Smackdown to freshen things up but the counter has been the track record of everyone brought up in the last two years from NXT and how Vince ends up losing interest in them and that there is a roster full of guys who could be used that aren’t even on television now.
Damian Priest was also supposed to debut on Smackdown last week, but that plan was ultimately nixed.
