Brodie Lee passed away at 41-years-old. Some fans knew him best as Luke Harper, but so many more knew the real Jon Huber. Those people are mourning his loss the most, because they know what an amazing human he was.
Lee was brought into AEW as The Exalted One, leader of the Dark Order. That storyline culminated in a debut that was supposed to happen in Lee’s hometown, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused a change of plans. Brodie Lee’s character morphed from a Vince McMahon parody to a very unique individual.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about who knew about Brodie Lee’s illness. This was kept under confidential lock and key. The Dark Order members didn’t even know what was going on. They continued making references about their absent leader during sketches all the way up to his passing.
“They were all talking about Brodie [in the Dark Order], because they didn’t know. You know, I mean it was one of those things where the family [of Lee] didn’t want anyone finding out, I mean very few people knew. It was obviously it was very, very bad. It’s been bad for a while.”
The Dark Order members reacted in sadness after such an extreme loss. The future of there faction is a second thought after considering the amazing life that was taken from us far too soon.
