Taz Hates Fans Comparing Ricky Starks To The Rock

Ricky Starks has a bright future ahead of him in AEW. Being part of Team Taz, he is mentored by wrestling legend Taz, who sees a lot of potential in Starks.

There have been several comparisons made between Starks and The Rock, which Taz doesn’t seem to appreciate.

Recently a fan on Twitter said that Starks and a younger Rock have very similar fashion sense. Taz decided to reply to the fan by asking why Starks cannot be the first of his name. He praised Starks’ in-ring and promo skills and told the fan not to put Starks in a box of “he reminds a me of that guy.”

Why can’t @starkmanjones be the 1st RICKY STARKS?!? He is soooo fucking good on mic and in ring please don’t put him in a BOX of “he reminds a me of that guy” garbage like some fans do. Because he has fashion sense w/looks, it’s weak IMO

It seems other fans shared Taz’s opinion, saying that Starks is a one of a kind wrestler. Taz replied to the fan, where the ECW legend said that he meant no disrespect to The Rock. He simply wants male and female wrestlers of today to be themselves and not be defined by others or be put in a box.

Exactly. And I mean zero disrespect towards @TheRock who I consider a friend, point is let all these men and women of today be THEMSELVES. No need to define them or put them in a box.

Team Taz is currently engaged in a feud with Sting, Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes. Allin will defend his TNT Title against Brian Cage at New Years’ Smash Night 2 on January 6th, 2021.
