WWE TLC will feature the first-ever Firefly Inferno Match. That brought a lot of questions about what the company has planned. What is a Firefly Inferno Match, and why is it happening?
WWE hasn’t confirmed any specifics about the Firefly Inferno Match yet. A wrestling ring surrounded by fire is nothing new in WWE, but they’re trying to put a new spin on things.
Ringside News asked around about how an Inferno Match changes when you place “Firefly” in front of it. We were told that this match was booked because the belief is this is something “new and different.”
More specifically, we were told that this is a result of WWE’s “creative tailspin and free fall.” This match is something “Bruce Prichard thinks is new and different to pitch.” Vince McMahon likes Bruce Prichard because, as we have covered before, Prichard “knows how to speak McMahon’s language.”
This Firefly Inferno Match will be the culmination of Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton’s storyline from WrestleMania 33. Orton burned down Sister Abigail’s shack during that feud. You can check out the clip below for reference.
