Plenty of WWE Superstars, who have held titles in the company, have their championships on display in their homes. It wasn’t always that way, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin can attest to that fact.
While speaking to ESPN, Austin was asked about Superstars getting to keep their titles. He explained that it wasn’t always a practice, because titles are expensive and hard to come by.
Now the company does give their champions a replica, and The Rattlesnake approves.
“It seems like they’re making replicas for everybody these days, but those damn expensive and hard to come by. The Cardinal rule is ‘no’ [they don’t get to keep their belts], but now it has kinda become a thing where the company will replicate a title and give it to someone. I’m down with that. I think it’s pretty cool. Anyone who can carry the belt long enough and represent it in a high fashion deserves to have one.”
Steve Austin likely has a few artifacts from his pro wrestling career at the Broken Skull Ranch. He racked up a ton of memories and probably has a keepsake or two. It doesn’t sound like WWE gave him a title belt each time he held a championship. He’s okay with that being the practice now.
Another legend surrounding Steve Austin’s title belt was also recently revealed. Check out to find out what happened to the 2nd Smoking Skull belt that WWE made.
