Goldberg and Roman Reigns were set to face each other at WrestleMania 36, but that didn’t happen. The unexpected pandemic caused them to nix those plans. Braun Strowman, who wasn’t even booked for Mania and was across the country at the time, flew in to beat Goldberg instead. Goldberg isn’t done with Reigns.
During his time on WWE The Bump, Goldberg said he has unfinished business with Reigns. He accused the Tribal Chief of stealing his finisher, and this is something he has spoken about before. He said that Reigns’ version is “theatrical.”
The two-time Universal Champion continued to say that he’s coming for Roman Reigns.
“Oh, I would say that that is one of the most mild understatements that I’ve ever heard. He backed out on me at WrestleMania, he stole my move, God knows how long ago, and he continues to perform it at subpar levels. Let’s be perfectly honest, I’m the dude who delivers the Spear and I don’t think that he understands what it’s like until I deliver one to him. So Roman, it’s coming and I’m coming for you. I may be old, I may be grey, but I’m still Goldberg.”
Before he left the show, Goldberg made a point to say that “Roman’s next.” That could be Goldberg going into business for himself a bit, but there is obviously unfinished business there as well.
