John Cena has a very busy life in Hollywood as he is involved in filming multiple projects. The Leader of the Cenation is scheduled to play the role of The Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad. It is unlike any other film he has acted in before and it has certainly has brought along a lot of challenges.

John Cena was recently part of a panel at CCXP 2020 for The Suicide Squad film. Cena discussed shooting a particularly difficult scene for him. He revealed that for that aforementioned scene, he was required to eat an empanada. Cena attempted to finish shooting it in one take. However, he was unable to do so and it ultimately took him 31 takes to do it. He almost ended up puking as a result.

“There was a day where we shot on a rooftop where we’re all eating. I had to eat an empanada and I took it upon myself to try to eat the entire empanada in a seamless take, thinking that it’s gonna look great,” Cena explained, “but it was also a complicated shot for James. Thirty-one empanadas later, Jesus, we got it right.”

The director of the movie James Gunn, who was also part of the panel, was asked whether Cena actually threw up in the end. Cena simply added that if he had eaten one more empanada, he really would have.

“I think 32 would have been the ‘heave-ho,’ but I was able to penguin waddle out of there and just relax and unbutton. But then people are going to see the movie and nobody’s going to care, so please—remember the empanadas!”

The Suicide Squad has a release date of August 6, 2021 and features actors such as Margot Robbie, Idris Elba and many more.
