Pat Patterson passed away at the age of 79-years-old, and the pro wrestling world remembered his legacy in droves. Shane McMahon, Triple H, Ric Flair, and more sent out heartfelt tributes, but they are certainly not alone.

Stephanie McMahon spent years working with Pat Patterson as she learned the ins and outs of WWE’s backstage process. He was with her since the beginning of her own WWE journey, and today she sent out a heartfelt goodbye to him.

#RIPPatPatterson I’m deeply grateful to have grown up with @wwe Hall of Famer, the first-ever Intercontinental Champion, the father of the #RoyalRumble and the first openly gay wrestler of his generation. Thank you for teaching me how to not take it all so seriously. Abooze

This is a sad time for the pro wrestling world. Pat Patterson was a trailblazer who fought so hard for the business he loved. His legacy will live on forever, especially in the memories of those who knew him.
