Welcome to Ringside News’ live results for WWE SmackDown on Friday the 13th.

Sooo, this is a little awkward. We actually don’t know any of what’s planned for tonight’s SmackDown at the time of writing. WWE hasn’t revealed any details of tonight’s episode because apparently Vince McMahon demanded a complete rewrite of the planned show.

That being said, it’s fair we can expect further build towards Survivor Series and we still don’t know the final member of Team SmackDown. The same can be said of the women’s Survivor Series match, as we don’t know three of the members of that team either. Beyond that we’re sure to get more from the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, the Tag Team Champions the Street Profits, Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, and more.

And that’s our rather sparse preview that will kick-off at 8PM EST. Let us know what you’re excited to see and enjoy the show!

SmackDown

This week’s SmackDown opens with the WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns coming to the ring alongside his adviser Paul Heyman.

Roman talks about Jey Uso and says rubbing shoulders with him has turned Jey into a main eventer who destroyed Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens. And at Survivor Series Jey will lead Team SmackDown to victory. Roman turns his attention to Randy Orton and says he doesn’t think about him, but you can respect a man’s accomplishments but not the man himself.

Drew McIntyre comes out and interrupts Roman. Drew says he couldn’t help but cut in because Roman took it for granted he would be facing Randy Orton at Survivor Series, but he will beat Randy on Monday night and it will be him and Roman at the PPV. Drew remembers the last time he and Roman were in the ring together, and it was when he eliminated him at the Royal Rumble. He reminds Roman that he then went to WrestleMania and dethroned Brock Lesnar, and in the meantime he has become the man while Roman ran away.

Roman says he likes Drew, always has, and he respects him. Drew told the truth, but now he’s back and ever since he’s been back nobody cares about Drew McIntyre. Roman says he doesn’t watch RAW but that’s fine because nobody does. People are watching SmackDown to see him. And now that Drew has failed his audition as the leader of WWE, he wants to know who exactly Drew McIntyre is. Drew says he’s the guy who’s going to beat Randy Orton and become WWE Champion, then head into Survivor Series and show who the secondary Champion really is.

Jey Uso runs down and gets between Roman and Drew. Jey says he’s got this and he asks Drew what he’s doing here. He says Drew wasn’t invited, that they run the place. Jey says Drew is being disrespectful and all the homies that are disrespectful get got, and it seems he’s going to have to do the same to Drew tonight. McIntyre goes to speak but Jey slaps the microphone out of his hand, so Drew shoves him down. McIntyre steps towards Jey but Roman gets in the way. They stare at each other before Roman and Jey walk off.

We return to find Roman screaming at Jey backstage, telling him to never stick his nose in his business. He says Jey shouldn’t be calling shots or making matches, to which Jey apologises and says he will handle things.

The Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn is in the ring and he says he only found out an hour ago that he will have to defend his title tonight. And not only defend it, but do so against a former United States Champion in the form of freak athlete Apollo Crews. He says this is clear evidence of a conspiracy against him but it’s OK, he’s going to use this as a chance to prove himself as the best Intercontinental Champion.

As Apollo nears him Sami pulls Apollo face-first into the girder under the ring. Sami then ties Apollo’s feet in the girder and slides back inside to win by count-out!
