Early on in the match, Dax Harwood appeared to have injured his hand. He rolled out of the ring and Doc Samson wrapped it with tape before he carried on. As they wrestled, Harwood’s hand continued to bleed, and it might have been broken. The two teams continued and really pushed each other to the limit.
Matt Jackson sold his ankle the entire time as he allowed it to prohibit him from doing some moves. There were tons of near falls throughout the contest, as expected.
If the Young Bucks lost the match, they would forfeit any future shot at the AEW Tag Team Titles. There was also a great spot where the Young Bucks slapped stereo sharpshooters on FTR. Dax and Cash’s love of Bret Hart has been widely documented.
FTR ended up taking Matt Jackson’s boot off so they could focus on his injured ankle. Each time it appeared one team had the match finished, there was a save or a kickout.
In the end, Matt Jackson landed a Superkick and picked up the pinfall on Cash Wheeler. The celebration was big in the ring as Nick and Matt Jackson received their new titles. Kenny Omega also came out to congratulate them.
