AEW continued through the pandemic, and they had to tape several weeks at once during that time. They returned to live programming, and socially distanced fans were eventually permitted as well. They are making plans for the future, but it won’t involve going live every week.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW doesn’t intend on running Dynamite live every week on a long-term basis. In fact, they plan on alternating weeks with live and pre-taped content.
While they are running live most weeks now, the long-term plan is still be to tape every other week.
Daily’s Place provides AEW with a venue where they can take certain camera shots and avoid showing that there is no crowd. The company can also sweeten the audio by inserting crowd sounds and reactions.
We’ll have to see how long it takes AEW to get back on the road, but they don’t seem to be making any plans to leave Daily’s Place for the time being.
