Thunder Rosa dropped the NWA Women’s Title to Serena Deeb during the UWN Primetime Live show, which was actually live. Deeb showed up on AEW Dynamite this week with her new title, but that episode was taped last week. How far in advance did they plan that title switch?

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that he was told about the planned switch weeks ago. That means Serena Deeb showed up on AEW Dynamite with the NWA Women’s Title and defended it before actually winning the title.

“It was about three weeks ago when I was told that Serena Deeb is going to win the title because Thunder Rosa wants to go to WWE or is looking to go to WWE, but like I said she’s under contract, so it’s hard to say how this is going to turn out. The people in AEW are still under the impression that she’ll work dates with them and with Billy Corgan.”

It’s interesting that Thunder Rosa dropped the title in this way. There is obviously something in the plans for that title switch to take place. This is an “up in the air” situation and Thunder Rosa is certainly having fun with it.
