James Storm almost entered WWE around WrestleMania, but the pandemic caused a stop to those plans. Whenever the thought of “Cowboy” James Storm arriving in WWE, Beer Money hopes are soon to follow.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Storm said that if he went to WWE, he wouldn’t want to start out with Beer Money. He said that Robert Roode has a good thing going right now. Storm expressed a desire to make a name for himself prior to joining forces with his old partner.

“Yeah, but it’s one of the things too. I would say if he’s got something good going on, great. I don’t want to go in there and just be like, ‘Hey, we should be a tag team now,'” said Storm. “If I went in there knowing I was going to go by myself, I’d want to go in there and make a name for myself first until– because people already know Beer Money if we got together. So, I would like to go in there and put my footprints in the sand before I start doing any kind of Beer Money stuff.”

WWE wanted Storm to be a veteran who could help put over younger talent. Ringside News exclusively reported that this was an idea from Paul Heyman, but then the pandemic hit and the Cowboy was never brought in. We’ll have to see if a Beer Money reunion takes place down the line. It certainly isn’t happening on the indies with Roode under WWE contract.
