AEW pulled Joey Janela from action this week, and fans thought that it was due to his participation in The Collective, but that isn’t the case. Several wrestlers who worked that event have come up with positive COVID-19 test results.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the specific reason for pulling Janela stemmed from his recent match with AJ Gray, who disclosed a positive COVID-19 test just recently.

Joey Janela was pulled from the 10/21 Dynamite show because he had wrestled A.J. Gray on an independent show over the weekend and Gray then tested positive for COVID. Janela was to face Omega, and was replaced by Sonny Kiss

Joey Janela recently fired back at a fan for saying that AEW needs to pay him more so he doesn’t have to work indies. He said he would work those shows for free and he does it because he loves wrestling.

AEW’s Bad Boy likely won’t be on Dynamite or Dark for a few weeks as the company doesn’t have another set of tapings until the first week of November.
