New Jack is a very controversial figure in pro wrestling. His son came forward and said that he was disowned three years ago, but now New Jack is speaking his piece on the matter.

Vice ran a profile on Washington Heights, New Jack’s son who performs in Baltimore as a well-known drag queen. We previously covered how Washington Heights came forward on Twitter to let everyone know that he became a Wikipedia editor so New Jack’s page would include a mention of him. He also claimed that New Jack disowned him three years ago.

In the statement provided to Vice, New Jack said that he mentioned his son in an autobiography which was released last year. He claims that the accusation of him disowning his son for becoming a drag queen is simply untrue.

“My son was mentioned in my book that just came out last year, so the statement about me disowning him three years ago is simply not true. I’ve heard there was a mention on his Twitter feed that he was upset because he was only mentioned once in a chapter that was half-a-page long. I spoke briefly about him and four of my other children, he was actually one of my kids that was mentioned by name. I also mentioned the fact that I keep any information about all of my kids private, because that has nothing to do with wrestling and is my own personal business, that I prefer to keep private.”

This is a far cry from what New Jack said in a September 3rd Facebook video: “There’s a lot of sh*t going on right now… I would just like to say to you, little f*cking motherf*cker… you know who you are and you’re not my son.” You can find the video below or by clicking here.

Washington Heights reacted to that video and his father’s comments: “part of me is hurt by his comments, but at the same time, this doesn’t surprise me. … I wanted this to be an opportunity for us to settle things and talk them out, but after what he said I can tell that just won’t happen. As I said earlier, I wanted some kind of response or reaction from him. Was it the best response? No. Do I finally have my answer as to where he stands with our relationship? Yes.”

We’ll keep our eye open for any future family reunion featuring New Jack and Washington Heights.
