Ronda Rousey hasn’t been around WWE since WrestleMania 35. She appeared on Total Divas for a season, and there were rumblings of her return. Then the pandemic hit and she went into quarantine at Browsey Acres. Her deal is running out so a return to the ring needs to happen sooner than later.
According to TMZ, a statement from WWE after Ronda Rousey’s hiatus started indicated that her contract is up in six months. “Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”
It is possible that WWE could bring Rousey back for a run through WrestleMania. Ringside News exclusively reported in July that WrestleMania 37 plans no longer include SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The mindset now is that WrestleMania 37 will go to Tampa to make up for the lost Mania 36 event.
Ronda Rousey was recently spotted training with Roddy Piper’s daughter Teal. We’ll have to see if that was her getting the ring rust off, or whether Rousey was just having some fun. Natalya recently teased that she was training with a mystery person as well.
WWE hasn’t been able to run a show in front of a live crowd since mid-March. The organic pop from live fans is something that they certainly want if they’re bringing back someone like The Baddest Woman On The Planet.
The company is looking into a new home after their ThunderDome lease expires at the end of this month. Rousey has unfinished business with Becky Lynch, but The Man is currently on hiatus while she is pregnant with her and Seth Rollins’ first child.
