Candice LeRae Opens Up About Her New ‘Evil Disney Princess’ Character In WWE NXT

Candice LeRae’s character in WWE’s NXT brand has seen a real shift in recent months. She is now positioned as a top heel on the brand, and she’s having a lot of fun in the process.

LeRae has a huge match at NXT TakeOver: 31 against Io Shirai. Candice and husband Johnny Gargano plan on becoming a married couple covered in gold. They each have impressive opponents that they must stop first.

While speaking to PW Insider, Candice LeRae spoke about her new character. She compared herself to an Evil Disney Princess as she continues to get out of circumstances using her new mindset.

“I just really like being this kind of new version of myself. It’s really fun, it’s exciting, I get to try all this new different stuff out, get to just be ‘evil Disney princess’ version of me. It’s always kind of been a goal of mine since before Tegan and I were both in NXT to have a WWE match against Tegan and so this whole feud and the story, it’s very exciting to me. It’s just, you know, unfortunate circumstances always get you out of nowhere when you least expect it but I’m here and I’m ready for when she’s healthy and she’s back. It’s a goal – I will not finish my career happy if I don’t get to wrestle her in NXT or WWE in general.”

We’ll have to see if WWE puts the NXT Women’s Title on Candice LeRae. She has certainly worked hard to earn her spot, and the storyline seems perfect to introduce a new element to the Garganos’ storyline, but have to become champions first.
