Robert Roode was in a team with Dolph Ziggler prior to the pandemic. They were having a lot of fun as their chemistry continued to grow. Then Roode disappeared from television.
There was a report that Robert Roode’s return to television is coming soon, but he hasn’t been seen yet. A new vignette in NXT could have teased his return to the black and gold brand.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about Roode’s status. He said it’s possible that Robert Roode is the mysterious NXT vandal, but there could be more going on with his story.
“Maybe he’s gonna be the guy who shows up in NXT next Sunday? I mean I figure it’s going to be Bobby Roode or Bo Dallas.”
Robert Roode lives in Canada and there was a travel ban, but Dave Meltzer said, “some people told me that nah, that’s not really the problem.” He then said that he doesn’t know exactly what is going on with Roode, but it might be more than the travel ban.
It could have boiled down to WWE losing interest in using him. It was described as “one of those Vince things.” Roode entered the main roster as a former NXT Champion with a Glorious entrance and a lot of momentum, but he suddenly stalled. Now we’ll have to see when he returns and to what capacity.
