WWE went through a spree of offering high-dollar contracts last year. It seems those days are over.
We previously reported that some recent NXT call-ups are finally getting their contracts for the main roster. It wasn’t specially noted which recent NXT call-ups that pertained to, but there are only so many options.
According to Fightful Select, WWE contracts for recently called-up NXT Superstars haven’t been “quite up there with what a lot of wrestlers were being offered to re-sign last year.”
NXT Superstars were told that their contracts will be renegotiated once they get a call-up to the main roster. They were not given an exact time frame as to when that will happen. It was noted that “times were uncertain” regarding how soon those deals would be discussed.
WWE also reportedly “told several of those involved that they’re open to re-negotiating after WrestleMania season next year.” It seems that the recent NXT call-ups aren’t making as much as they would have if the pandemic didn’t considerably slow down the operation.
