Chelsea Green had a lot of hype behind her when it was reported that she was called up to the WWE main roster. That was in December of last year, and then they sent her back to NXT for a short run with the Robert Stone Brand. After she fired Stone, Green has been absent from television.

The former Hot Mess from Impact Wrestling was pegged for a main roster debut. She didn’t make any role in Retribution, and she also is not (presently) the mystery SmackDown Superstar.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about Green’s current WWE status. At this point her call-up has been started and stopped so many times that it’s unclear “what the hell is going on”

“God only knows. She’s not in Retribution, and so I don’t know and she’s not in — they took her off of NXT right when she was getting a push. She was drawing numbers. She was in some tag team matches that did really, really big and then they did that angle to take her away from Robert Stone and we haven’t seen her.”

“At the time the plan was for her to debut on the main roster, but they’ve made changes since then. So, who the hell knows what’s going on. I have no idea.”

Chelsea Green is also engaged to Matt Cardona. His AEW debut likely had nothing to do with WWE’s decision to hold off on calling her up. The timeline simply doesn’t match since they decided to not debut her months prior to his All Elite Wrestling debut.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Chelsea Green. It’s likely she will be more than ready for whatever they decide for her to do. At this rate, they might just wait until October and introduce her during the next draft.
