Cody Rhodes is having a terrible time securing the trademark for his famous father’s nick name. The American Dream name is still alluding the American Nightmare.

The US Patent and Trademark Office still believes that Cody has not presented a substantial enough of a case to warrant the American Dream trademark. According to Heel By Nature, this filing was originally done on March, 10th, 2019 and it is still being refused.

This is the third refusal Cody has faced when trying to secure this trademark. The most recent “Request for Reconsideration After Final Action” denial was submitted on August 20th.

The reason behind the rejection was due to Rhodes not providing appropriate documentation showing the “The American Dream” used in entertainment services, specifically live appearances and appearances by a professional wrestler.

The trademark office was not satisfied with the evidence that Cody’s legal team was able to supply. The previous submission stated that Cody was bewildered as to why this filing keeps being rejected.

The courts returned Cody’s latest attempt while noting what he failed to present to their liking.

  • Raise a new issue
  • Resolve all the outstanding issue(s)
  • Provide any new or compelling evidence with regard to the outstanding issue(s)
  • Present analysis and arguments that were persuasive or shed new light on the outstanding issue(s)

Hopefully, Cody Rhodes will be able to figure out this situation soon. He wants to secure as many properties as he can that were associated with his father. If he can lock down The American Dream that would be a big win for him at this point.
