Jeff Cobb had a very short stint in AEW, but it was only for a guest spot as the Inner Circle’s secret weapon. Now it appears he has chosen to sign with a different company.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Jeff Cobb’s current situation. All the appearances are there that Cobb signed a deal with NJPW. It was also noted that he turned down an AEW deal in the process.

“He’s been telling people all year long that he signed with somebody, but he wouldn’t say who and he’s with New Japan Pro Wrestling completely. He’s in the G1. He turned down AEW for this. His thing is that… everybody’s got their goal and his goal was to get a contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling. It was never WWE, there was no AEW at the time. Ring of Honor was the stepping stone to get to New Japan and he got to New Japan through Ring of Honor and now he’s in New Japan.”

Jeff Cobb is likely going to get a nice spotlight in NJPW. He has all the tools needed to be incredibly successful in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s hard-hitting environment.

We’ll keep a close eye on what Cobb is up to. Hopefully, this works out for him because he turned down AEW in order to take this new deal.
