WWE bid farewell to Renee Young after SummerSlam, but she actually wanted to go years prior to that. The company didn’t let her go at the time and she now sees that was best for her career.

Young cannot show up in AEW immediately. She currently has a non-compete clause which is 90-days in length.

While Renee Paquette spoke with Sports Media with Richard Deitsch, she revealed that WWE denied a release request she put in years ago. If she had left WWE at that time she would have missed out on a lot of opportunities such as working with Fox Sports.

“When I had actually thought about leaving WWE several years ago and I was not granted my release at the time because I was under a talent contract but they wouldn’t let me out of that contract, and it turned out to be a good thing. I got to do a ton of stuff beyond that-that I wouldn’t have the career that I have today had I not been there for the past three years.

Renee Young later revealed that she is still employed by Fox Sports. She didn’t disclose what kind of relationship she has with Fox Sports, but the two sides apparently still have a working relationship.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Renee Young. Her phone is ringing off the hook with offers. Right now she is weighing her options while looking back at the past eight years with WWE.
