Roman Reigns made his big return to WWE television, and he did so as a heel. Now he has Paul Heyman by his side as Universal Champion, but who’s idea was this?
Ringside News excursively reported that Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns were in constant contact. This situation saw The Big Dog make a return in a very surprising fashion as only a very select few knew it was happening.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that it’s unknown who made the call to place Paul Heyman with Reigns. We do know that Roman Reigns himself asked for a heel turn upon his return from this hiatus.
It’s not known whether it was Reigns or McMahon who made the call to put Heyman with Reigns, but Reigns did ask to be turned heel on his return after being out of action since March due to concerns over COVID-19.
Roman Reigns will now be permitted to get the boos that fans have wanted to give him for a long time. Thanks to the ThunderDome, WWE can also make sure that fans react to Roman Reigns in the desired fashion.
This is just the beginning of Roman Reigns in such a top spot as a bad guy. He is expected to remain Universal Champion for quite a while.
