Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Title against MJF at All Out. He has a very important job in the company as champion, but worrying about viewership isn’t under his umbrella of responsibility.
AEW and WWE NXT’s competition is well known at this point. Even when NXT can’t be in direct competition to AEW, they still find a way to compete.
While he spoke with Busted Open Radio, Jon Moxley was asked if he worries about viewership. He said that other people do, but it’s simply not his job.
“I don’t stress about it. People give me high fives or whatever when I come in the building like ‘Ah we whooped their ass last night!’ I’m like, ‘that’s cool,’ but I’m just focused on the people who are watching and make sure that we keep doing a good job for them and just keep going and going. Nothing to stress about on a week by week basis. That’s somebody else’s job, not mine.”
Jon Moxley obviously wants AEW to be successful, but worrying about competition from NXT isn’t his job. He’s doing what he can as AEW World Champion to present compelling stories in the ring. That seems to be doing a good enough job, and Moxley is happy about that.
